Bruce Baker Class Championships

The Bruce Baker Class Championships    Round 1 of 6    11/17/10  7 PM

This month we honor our club manager Bruce Baker. I will say more about him later, but for now let me just point out that he is one of the best human beings I have ever known: honest, kind and trustworthy are a few of the adjectives that come to mind. His years of service to our club and to the royal game should never be taken lightly. Please wish him well when you next see him.

This event is in 5 sections: Master/Expert, Class A, B, C and D. The time control is 40/90, SD/60 with 5 second delay. There will be very nice trophies for the winners in each Class. Plus the winner of "The Masters", the highest section, will get a berth into the 2011 Club Championship without any other qualifications needed. Peter Hodges, Bruce Baker and John Funderburg are already seeded in, so if one of them wins the Masters, then whoever places second would get the berth. Tiebreaks will be used if needed.

Entry Fee is $25 as always, and also 2 byes are allowed. Please sign up in advance by emailing chucnglo@aol.com or by calling the club at 619-239-7166. For bye requests or to join, please email by 4 PM Wednesday, after that just call the club, please do so before 6:30 PM or we can't give you a half point bye.
