I don't know if it's the format of the new web site or other factors, but coverage of this year's Championship has been quite lackluster. Where is Rick's colorful commentary? Where are the games? Where are the photos? I miss the old site :(
ReplyDeleteI was out of town this last week on vacation, so I have been unable to do much for the website. I was hoping Rick or someone else would add some commentary, but Rick didn't even post the results, I had to run all the way down to the chess club from RB last night to get the results and pairings posted. I called Rick, but no answer, so he is apparently also busy with something else. We all miss the old site. This site is likely a just temporary stop until we find something better. "Other factors" are also involved, the financial meltdown has been a big strain on everyone and in my case, I have had a lot less time to devote to chess than I used to have when things were going more smoothly.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chuck. We greatly appreciate your hard work in organizing the tournaments and updating the web site! I'll just have to be patient for the economy to recover and an improved web site.
ReplyDeleteHello John & Chuck & everyone else:
ReplyDeleteChuck, as usual you are a scholar and a gentleman. I do not think, we, as chess players will ever thank you enough for all the hard work. I, too, miss the old site, especially the "Cyrus Annotates" section, that, to me was basically a free lesson! We all will have to be patient, for better economic times (and a better site too!)
