Most of my previous blogs were for everyone, but somehow it switched over without my even noticing that feature. Rick explained it to me when he got back from the Amateur Team West event. So to view the pairings, you must remember to log in as a member, or also to join if you are not a member. In the future most of the blogs will be "for everyone", but some may remain for members only for several reasons that I won't go into here. We will discuss it at the club on Wednesday night.Chuck Enseyhttp://censey.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8845009903340716413.post-31802037200878473102009-02-17T11:36:37.000-08:002009-02-17T11:36:37.000-08:00noup, this is the last blog postingnoup, this is the last blog postingMaria Murrahttp://yoshion.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8845009903340716413.post-2355992341469156632009-02-16T21:53:28.000-08:002009-02-16T21:53:28.000-08:00Go to the Home page (click on Home in upper left h...Go to the Home page (click on Home in upper left hand corner). Although what the bloggers wrote may be true or even funny, still this sort of stuff can quickly deteriorate into name calling and just the sort of thing that I spoke about before the last round. Be a good sport! "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it", this is the general rule. Respect your opponent and the other players; let's don't go down that road of "trash talking" etc, It only can lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings, especially on a website where it is not always easy to tell when someone is trying to be funny or sarcastic, but it often just comes out mean. We try to poke fun at everyone at sometime or another, but let's keep it light. If you really do have a beef with someone's actions or behavior, this is NOT the place to bring it up. Speak in person with a board member and in private, then we can try to address the issues in a calmer way. In other words NO FLAMING on this website, also remember this site is read by kids and so the languauge must be keep clean. Not that the last few posts weren't, I am just stating the general rules here...thanks, ChuckChuck Enseyhttp://censey.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8845009903340716413.post-63096562775190040972009-02-06T21:22:57.000-08:002009-02-06T21:22:57.000-08:00ykol wrote "Remember, I've beaten him onc...ykol wrote "Remember, I've beaten him once along with the "Great One" but they never publish that game 'coz the moves were the reminiscent of the old "Capablanca"... chess is getting fun!!! If there are 3 byes to make,"<br />In the Serengeti of Africa, even a jackal or hyena can wound a lion, if a lion is distracted and the hyena strikes a lucky blow.<br />In chess, as I am finding out, winning and losing are part of the nature of the game. As a chess player, you will lose and win...with some frequency. It is how you win or lose that is important. It is more important to win and lose with honor. One can win a game but if one mocks his opponent in the process of winning by making theaterical, exaggerated gestures as *you* have done then you have lost all grace and your 'win' is a hollow, dishonorable victory. Chess players as a whole are too intelligent to respect that kind of a win.<br />The 'byes' were wisely instituted because in a long seven-week tournament, some players may have to use them if they are out-of-town or some other emergency comes up. To take a 'bye' to avoid playing a good player is generally looked upon as unethical, cowardly and frowned upon.Patrick Ahrenshttp://fahrenheit415.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8845009903340716413.post-59502838222291149712009-02-06T18:02:00.000-08:002009-02-06T18:02:00.000-08:00If it's really a destiny and faith, the ballad...If it's really a destiny and faith, the balladeer will face the consequences. It's Bruce' turn to take a bye just to erase the so called "old adage". Had Lennart and PJ, did not applied it first starting on the 4th round, the shadow of the "great master" should have perished!! Prepare to bring your cameras 'coz your's truly might and perhaps create some surprises. Remember, I've beaten him once along with the "Great One" but they never publish that game 'coz the moves were the reminiscent of the old "Capablanca"... chess is getting fun!!!
