Isaac Wang Open - Prizes

 The 5 round Isaac Wang Open is now complete and it has been rated. This event used a McMahon pairing system where players with ratings 1800 or above started with 4 bye points, U1800 with 3, U1600 with 2, U1400 with 1 and U1000 with 0. We had 71 players, including 5 unrated players. Everyone played in one big section. Here are the prize winners;

1st Place: Carlos Varela (Eight points), $100, 2nd-4th Place: Benjamin Tang (7 1/2), Isaac Wang (7 1/2) and Andrew Wang (7 1/2), $50 each; BU2000: a 4-way tie between Vedant Maheshwari, Vinayak Venugopal, Alejandrino Baluran and Anthony Su, all with 7 points for $50 each.
BU1800: Vincent Broman (6 1/2), $100; 2nd/3rd U1800: Pejman Sagart (6) and Steve Perry (6), $62 each; 4th Place: 5-way tie between Raynash Maheshwari, Daniel Sosa, Hector Gonzalez, Damani Fair and Tez Padhee, all with 5 1/2 for $5 each.
BU1600: Zachary Clark (6), $100; 2nd/3rd U1600: Mark Lawless (5 1/2) and Miguel Andrade (5 1/2), $62 each; 4th Place: Robert Henderson (5), $25.
BU1400: Jorge Gonzalez (4 1/2), $75; 2nd/3rd U1400: Genero Crenshaw (4) and Vincent Prado (4), $37 each; BU1200: Aparajit Bhowmik (3 1/2), $50.
1st/2nd U1000: Ayaan Oswal (3 1/2) and Rustam Zokirov (3 1/2), $50 each; 3rd Place: a 4-way tie between Nathan Trieu, Arthur Arman, James Wall and Christopher Wang, all with 3 points for $5 each.
Total Prizes: $1,270. Directed by Jim Harrell with assistance from Chuck Ensey. New tournament starts next week, come join us. Entry fee: $25, 4 sections, 5 rounds. It's the Anthony Su Open!
