Jerry Soelberg Open Rd 4

Round 4 of 6    07/22/09  7 PM

68 players total. This is a McMahon pairing event, everyone plays in one big section but we separate the players by assigning initial bye points so that Masters and Experts start with 4 points, Class A players with 3, B=2, C=1, D/E=0. Currently we have 19 M/E, 17 A, 12 B, 10 C and 10 D/E = 68 total, not including a few house players.  

Please call the club phone at 619-239-7166 if you can't make a round, you can get a 1/2 point bye if you call by 6:30 PM on Wednesday. (Maximum of 2 byes). You can also email chucnglo@aol.com but if you go this route please do it by 4:00 PM on Wednesday at the latest, after that time please call the club.

  1. T.D.: I have a question? the above players who requested to withdraw and might change their decision anytime, will they be eligible to request again to be paired for the next round? respectfully request an answer be announce next week. thanx.

  2. Yes, withdrawn players, or players requesting byes, CAN change their minds at any time, only in the case of a last round irrevocable bye can we prevent a player from playing. Bob Defore has one of those for this event. They must be requested by Rd 2 and can't be changed, all others can. We have to allow fexibility in terms of taking byes, lots of last minute things can and do happen. These pairings are always just indications, nothing is final until just before the round on Wednesday, preferably by 6:30 PM

  3. Therefore, players posting their names in the lists beside the results are not yet final. It looks like this is only a club directives and not generally USCF rules. Thanks for the reply.
